Binghamton

Binghamton (Binghamton), located in Upper State, New York, in Bloom County. Population 47,380 (2000). It's a central city in southern New York. With Endicott (the birthplace of the international business machine IBM) and Johnson City, a 252,000-strong metropolitan area (commonly known as Sanlian Triple Cities).

The city of Binghamton has a total area of 28 square kilometers, with 1.6 square kilometers of water, or 5.43% of the total area, according to the Census Bureau. The Susquehanna river, the 16th longest river in the United States, passes through Binghamton. Binghamton is the sixth largest city in New York (the top five are New York City, Buffalo, Rochester, Obani and Snow City), on the border between New York and Pennsylvania, at the same latitude as Boston. The Binghamton climate is a temperate continental humid climate, with a colder winter north and a minimum temperature of minus 20°C. Every June to August is summer, and the average temperature is 23°C~28°C, which is very comfortable. The fall is in September, and the temperature drops to more than ten degrees in October. This is also a good time to enjoy maple. At its coldest in winter, it can reach minus 20 degrees.

Politics

In the conservative atmosphere of Upper State, Binghamton's left-wing activities stand out. Voters throughout the county also tend to favor the Democrats. The mayoral race was held in November 2005, with candidates from the Republican, Democratic and New York Independence parties competing. The Democratic candidate won the result.

He started out in the canal and cigar business. The shoe industry was famous during World War I. The military industry has been important since the Cold War (Lorchemartin invested in helicopters in 2005), but information technology has advanced rapidly across the US in recent years. It is surrounded by wine and cider production areas.

IBM, a leading computer information company, is based in Endicott, Binghamton. Herman Hollerith founded Tabulating Machine Company here in 1888 and was then President Thomas J in 1924. Watson was renamed IBM. IBM grew up here and became the world's leading computer technology, providing thousands of jobs and attracting foreign talent. Although IBM has moved to other locations, its past decades of scenery has created a unique intellectual atmosphere for the people of Binghamton, and most of the technology talents who worked at IBM at that time have chosen to remain in the area or pursue academic studies because of the atmosphere in which they are accustomed. IBM's old factory still has an IBM museum, which provides interested people with a better understanding of the history of the big computer factories.

The famous electric mechanical flight simulator Link Trainer was born in Binghamton area. Link Trainer inventor Edwin Albert Link grew up in Binghamton. Link founded Link Aviation, Inc., with his wife, with a manufacturing facility and employing thousands of employees, contributing significantly to the economy of the Binghamton region. The Link couple founded the The Link Foundation Foundation in 1953. The Foundation has been operational to date and has provided scholarships and grants to scholars and organizations in aviation, simulation and training, marine engineering and energy research.

BAE System, a major defense and aviation equipment manufacturing facility, also operates in the Binghamton region and BAE System is the largest defense equipment manufacturing facility in Europe and the third largest defense equipment manufacturing facility in the world, and is a UK-based company. Culture and Art

Binghamton is known as the "World Capital of Rotary Trojans" and is surrounded by six free ancient rotary trojans. All the Trojans are carved by hand and are one of the few ancient, old-style Trojans in the world. Rotary Trojans were owned by George F, owner of a large shoe factory in Endicoot in the 1920s. Johnson. Johanson and his family are the first known philanthropists, so they introduce several rotary trojans and donate to local residents and their staff to enjoy free rides. The Merry-Go-Round is still well preserved, housed in several parks in the Binghamton area, and has become one of the most famous features of the area. Every holiday, it becomes a gathering place for local families and young students. The Hot Air Balloon and Barbecue Festival, The Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally, is held every summer and August, and is a regional festival in Binghamton. Food, entertainment, exhibition and music are the main activities. It includes concerts, the presence of local celebrities, the Spiedie Meat Skewers Competition, antique car shows and the hot air balloon rides and rides. There are also local businesses, agencies and restaurant shops which offer information sharing and food tastings. All the new and fun things are gathered at this three-day summer weekend. Spiedie is a local Binghamton fried meat, and Spiedie is made of vinegar and a variety of herbs. When the chicken or pork is soaked in the sauce for a few minutes, the meat is roasted in a series, thus becoming delicious serial roast meat. The sour and smooth taste has become a common food for local residents, and it has attracted people from other places to come and taste it. Brum County Community College (BCC, Broome Community College) is located in Frontstreet. It's a two-year college in the State University of New York system. It covers an area of 57,000 square meters. Most graduates continue to complete the next two years of four-year college at Binghamton.

Sports

In part of the professional movement, Binghamton is home to the Major League Baseball New York Mets 2A farm, where over the years countless contestants have been trained to challenge the Major League's success. The hockey part on the ice is Senator Binghamton. Bearcat, a Binghamton university part of the US University Movement in the first division of the Eastern Union, is the focus of local fans. In the golf part, BC Open, a professional PGA grade, was shut down by BC Open because of the 2006 flood that damaged the field. Until 2007, there was Dick's Sporting Goods Open. to replace BC Open, which offers local golf fans another chance to watch a professional game.

There are two airports in the Binghamton area, Greater Binghamton Airport and Tri-Cities Airport. There are three to five flights a day from BGM to Philadelphia, Washington and Detroit.

Binghamton's BC Junction has two bus operators, Greyhound and Shortline/Coach USA. Greyhound is to Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester, Scranton, Toronto, Philadelphia, Washington and New York City. Albany, Atlanta, Ithaca and New York can be reached by shortline. Both New York stations are PortAuthority.
